All Questions & Answers

1.Is GSP's investment management truly in-house, or do you use third-party model portfolios?

Gideon's public markets investment operation is fully proprietary. Erik Oros and Giorgio Caputo, both with institutional pedigrees, build and manage Gideon's strategies internally. Gideon does not outsource portfolio management to third-party model providers, which means every decision is made with your specific tax situation, concentration risk, and financial plan in view.

2.What is the minimum to access GSP's investment strategies?

Minimums vary by strategy. Risk-Based Models and Specialized Portfolios are available to clients across Gideon's UHNW client base. Each engagement is evaluated individually for fit and complexity.

3.How does GSP handle concentrated stock positions?

Concentrated stock is one of the most complex wealth management challenges, and one Gideon specializes in. Gideon uses a combination of strategies including PPLI wrappers to shelter ongoing gains, and Gideon's internal Long Only strategy uses event-driven and special situation positions that can complement existing concentrated exposure. Gideon works alongside your CPA and estate planning counsel to develop the right approach for your situation.

4.What does 'tax-aware' actually mean in practice?

Tax awareness is embedded at every level of Gideon's investment process, not added as an afterthought. This includes asset location (placing high-yield strategies in tax-deferred accounts), systematic tax-loss harvesting, strategic rebalancing timed to minimize gain recognition, and selecting the optimal investment vehicle (direct, SMA, ETF, or insurance wrapper) for each strategy.

5.My employer requires pre-clearance of trades. Can you work with that?

Yes. Gideon has established coordination protocols with the compliance systems of Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and PwC, and Gideon routinely works with clients subject to Rule 407/3210 requirements at investment banks, law firms, and public companies. Gideon treats your compliance obligations as a constraint to engineer around, not an obstacle.
