Robert D. Amoruso, Founder & Managing Partner

Robert Amoruso’s expertise lies in financial planning and wealth management with a focus on estate planning, risk management, retirement planning, asset allocations, and tax-efficient investments. He founded Gideon Strategic Partners in 2012 while at AXA, with his close friend and business partner, Elliot Silverstein. Their vision has always been to provide customized financial planning and impeccable client service. Gideon was founded on the highest of ethical and moral principles. In 2016, Gideon became an independent firm and joined M Financial Group’s global network of Member Firms.

Robert’s career in financial services began in 2007 at Van Eck Global. He joined AXA in 2008 as a Financial Consultant and was later promoted to Regional Vice President where he helped build and lead the largest and top producing team in the country. Robert won several awards for production and management including Circle of Excellence, Summit, Hallmark I, and the Management and Development Award, and he was inducted into the Sterling Group and Elite Producer Group. He is a qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table based on his production and has been since his first year in the business.

Robert graduated summa cum laude from Johnson and Wales University with majors in Finance and Entrepreneurship, and has received the Retirement Planning Specialist Certificate from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Executive Education. He maintains the FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, and 65 securities licenses; as well as Life, Accident, and Health Insurance licenses.

Robert grew up in the Berkshires, is always reading, and has always loved music. Outside of the office, he actively supports people, causes, and charities he believes in. Other interests include travel, exercise, and spending time with his friends and family.

 

Elliot Silverstein, Founder & Managing Partner

Elliot Silverstein’s expertise lies in financial planning and wealth management with a focus on estate planning, risk management, retirement planning, and tax-efficient investments. He founded Gideon Strategic Partners in 2012 while at AXA, with his close friend and business partner, Robert Amoruso. Their vision has always been to provide customized financial planning and impeccable client service. Gideon was founded on the highest of ethical and moral principles. Elliot began his career in 2008 as a Financial Consultant at AXA and was promoted to Regional Vice President in 2015. He won several awards for production, and management including Circle of Excellence, Summit, Hallmark I, and the Management Development Award, and he was nationally ranked each year for overall production including #1 and #2 in the country for his company-assigned class in 2010 and 2011 respectively. Elliot helped build and lead the top team in the country at AXA and was inducted into the Sterling Group and Elite Producer Group. He is a qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table based on his production and has been since his first year in the business.

Elliot attended high school at The Peddie School in Hightstown, New Jersey. He graduated from and played football at Union College and holds an MBA from the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University. He received the Retirement Planning Specialist Certificate from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Executive Education and maintains the FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, and 65 securities licenses; as well as Life, Accident, and Health Insurance licenses.

Elliot is from South Florida and spends as much time as possible with his friends and family. Outside of the office, he actively supports people, causes, and charities he believes in. He mentors undergraduates from his alma mater and is active in the Union College Gridiron Club. He enjoys music, travel, cooking, reading, yoga, art, and sports.

Edwin Kispert, Partner

As a Partner at Gideon Strategic Partners, Ed Kispert works to constantly propel Gideon towards the firm’s goals by improving its operational systems and processes, specifically supporting management, reporting, information flow, business processes, and organizational planning. He also manages and increases the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services (HR, IT, and finance) through improvements to each function, as well as coordination and communication between support and business services. Ed plays a significant role in Gideon's long-term planning, including an initiative geared towards operational excellence.

In addition to operational management, Ed develops personalized strategic solutions to address the financial needs of individuals, families, and small to mid-sized businesses. His focus is primarily asset management, specifically in tax-efficient investments and asset protection strategies. 

Ed graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Economics and a concentration in Financial Globalization. During his four years at Penn, he was a lettered member of the varsity football team. Additionally, Ed maintains the FINRA Series 7 and 63 securities licenses; as well as Life, Accident, and Health Insurance licenses. 

Originally from New Jersey, Ed now lives in Los Angeles and is an active member of his community. He enjoys reading, hiking, cooking—especially Italian—and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Oliver Ingram, Associate

As an associate at Gideon Strategic Partners, Oliver Ingram works to help his clients understand their financial situation and implements personalized strategies designed to achieve their financial goals. His experience lies in wealth management and financial planning with a focus on tax, estate, and retirement planning. Prior to Gideon Strategic Partners, Oliver worked at Solar States in Philadelphia where he directed the sales team and designed residential and commercial solar energy systems.

Oliver graduated from Columbia University with a major in Sustainable Development. During his time at Columbia, he was a member of the varsity lightweight rowing team where he rowed on the United States Under 23 National Rowing Team and in the Columbia varsity eight boat that won the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championship for the first time in the program’s history.

Oliver is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and enjoys spending as much time outdoors as possible. Among other things, he enjoy cross country skiing, hiking, longboarding, and cycling.

Shawn Maan, Associate

As an associate at Gideon Strategic Partners Shawn Maan is responsible for delivering the firm’s wealth management capabilities and resources to high net worth individuals, families, and small to mid-sized business. Shawn develops personalized strategic solutions to address the financial needs clients. His experience lies in retirement asset distribution strategies as well as long-term tax efficient structures.

Since 2009, Shawn was enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was deployed to Afghanistan in 2011. Amongst his most distinguished assignments, he specialized in data communications and intelligence in an infantry unit. 

Shawn graduated from UCLA with a major in Economics. Originally born and raised in Cincinnati, he is passionate about cooking, lifting, hiking, reading and spending time outdoors.

Patrick Norton, Associate

Patrick Norton establishes and grows relationships with top tier RIAs, hedge funds, private equity firms, and family offices across the country. He helps these firms better serve their clients by implementing tax-efficient strategies within their portfolios. 

Patrick’s experience lies in wealth management and financial planning with a focus on tax, estate, and retirement planning. Before joining Gideon Strategic Partners, he worked as an analyst at Calvin Klein Studio (Calvin Klein’s Family Office). During his three and half years there, he mainly assisted with investment and tax planning strategies, analyzed personal and business insurance policies, and created financial statements for personal and business operations.

Patrick graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Business Administration. During his time in college, he was a member of the club volleyball team.

As a Los Angeles native, Pat attended Brentwood High School and continues to stay directly involved with the school and alumni association. He is an avid reader and traveler and also enjoys staying as active as possible with beach volleyball, basketball, snowboarding, and surfing. 

Brendan Aker, Associate

As an associate at Gideon Strategic Partners, Brendan Aker educates his clients on their financial condition and illustrates any potential weaknesses he may encounter. He then implements from an arsenal of investment ideas, tax-efficient strategies, and insurance recommendations to help combat these shortcomings. His experience lies in wealth management and financial planning.

Brendan earned his bachelor of science in forensic accounting from the University of Scranton where he was a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta National Honors Society, the Business Leadership Honors Society, the special Jesuits honors society, the business club, and served as the captain of the Men's Crew Team. He also earned his MBA in accounting while working as a graduate assistant and founder of the University of Scranton Student Advisory Council. Brendan was listed in "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges." Brendan is active in the LBGT community. During his time at Scranton, Brendan held internships at Wilkin & Guttenplan, CPA and Hodulik & Morrison, CPA as well as a lifeguard on the beaches of Belmar, New Jersey.

Corinne Weisler, Executive Assistant

As Executive Assistant and Director of Company Culture at Gideon Strategic Partners, Corinne acts as the organizational backbone of the office, facilitating seamless communication between clients and the team, ensuring smooth operations by maintaining an up-to-date schedule, and managing office culture and morale. 

Originally from Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, Corinne graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia. Combined with her background in public relations, she is able to utilize her skills to connect with people in a unique way, learning to anticipate and cater to their individual needs. 

Outside of the office, Corinne enjoys traveling, exploring new places, reading, trying out new restaurants, fashion, cooking, and music.
